WHEELERS FOR THE WOUNDED …benefits specifically for… PURPLE HEART RECIPIENTS Wheelers for the Wounded - San Antonio is a wonderful non-profit organization that partners with Chapter 1919. Our goal is to bring Wounded Warriors and their families to an all day event to honor them and give them a chance for an adventure of a lifetime. The event is normally at Hidden Falls Park (between Austin and Marble Falls) and takes place the first Saturday in May. There are lots of activities for family fun and fantastic food. Each family is designated a vehicle and driver to take them on any course they choose. The trails range from scenic to heart-stopping adventures up the steep sides of mountains. No matter their choice of trails the adventures take them to another world where their problems are forgotten and true fun for everyone.
“Wheelers” has asked Chapter 1919 to serve the
lunch on Saturday (same as last year’s event, but not everything in the
schedule will be exactly the same), and very kindly gives us billing as one
of the hosts.
Although primarily for Wounded
Warriors (and their families) from hospitals at Ft Hood and San Antonio,
Chapter 1919’s Patriots and families are invited to participate in the
